Power 10: PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE

THE CANYON LANDS TRIP

The  trip to the Canyon Lands was something I never though I would do. We hiked three miles in and camped for three days. The group went on a six mile hike, had lunch then we hiked back to camp. The group walked a mile twice a day to get water from a near by stream. This trip has taught me about what I can do to water to make it drinking water. Also I can set up a camp without help. This trip has shown me that hiking and camping are fun things to do in the summer. I never though I would like camping and hiking as much as I do now after the trip to the Canyon Lands.

THE CALIFORNIA TRIP

Last year a group of 12 went to California. We toured the houses and walked the streets of Hollywood. During our time there we help at a soup kitchen and a place called Crossroads. I learned how the homeless people in California have a place to stay and eat when they need it.

Senior trip

For our Senior trip we went and visited the Hoppi people. There we learned the way the people live and the way the people do things. It is a different way of life. On this trip I learned about myself. I learned that I am a helpful person but I need to find peace with myself before I try to help anyone else. I also learned that I need to be nicer to my family because in the end they are all I have left. We learned that we all have friends. Our friends need to eat just like us they are our spirits. We need to feed and care for our friends. Also I learned how to make a basket. We took a day and a half to make the baskets.
